My guide to doing almost nothing in Maui and having the best time ever while doing it.
If you’ve followed me on Instagram over the years you probably have noticed that I love Maui. I have been going there for years and consider it to be one of my 2 happiest places (the other one being Idaho but that is an entirely separate post). There is truly nothing not to like about Maui; It has gorgeous scenery, nice people, beautiful/clean beaches and stunning weather. Visiting Maui is truly a special treat and I love nothing more than sharing what makes me happy with my friends. Yes, sometimes I want to be stingy and keep things for myself but then I remember this; When people are happy they’re…

FYI- “Fitness and Diet” culture is poisoning your brain.
Almost everyday I receive the same DM on Instagram; “What is your workout routine?” and “How do you eat like you do and not gain weight?” With the exception of posting about PlateFit I never really get detailed about it. Why? Because we are a culture OBSESSED with body image and comparing and I know, for a fact, that what works for me is not guaranteed to work for anyone else. With that being said, I am going to share with you about it here so I can address it long form. Kate Moss famously said, “Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels.” As much as I love Kate,…

Lets Make Being Socially And Globally Conscious Great Again: Part 2- The Gilead Edition.
Right now in America things are going to shit, let’s just call it like it is. From human rights violations happening at the borders to the repeal of women’s rights in many states it’s hard to know how to help and even harder to not want to want to bury your head in the proverbial sand and pretend it’s just not happening. But it is, and if you have a conscious it’s probably bothering you. Let me make something clear from the start, YOU DON’T NEED TO HAVE A VAGINA TO CARE ABOUT WOMEN’S RIGHTS. You should care because we are all human beings, and when one of us is…

Lets Make Being Socially And Globally Conscious GREAT AGAIN: Part 1
If you’ve known me for awhile personally, or followed my Instagram account for some time, you probably saw the rise to what my Dad likes to refers to as “Woke Whitney”. I don’t exactly know how this happened…Oh no, wait, I know exactly how this happened. It happened when a tyrannical, misogynistic, earth raping, sexual predator was nominated to run as candidate for the office of President by the GOP. This is probably the right time to let you know that if you are someone who supports this dumpster fire of a human being you should probably stop reading now, because unlike some people who feel that they have to…

Zero The Hero
If you ask someone who knows me well to describe me using 3 words I can almost guarantee you that “indecisive” would be one of them. I cannot make big decisions, it’s paralyzing to me. To be honest I can’t really make small ones either. I usually defer to whoever I’m with to decide where we eat, or if I should purchase the pair of shoes and so on and so forth. This isn’t a quality I like about myself. I actually hate it. I agonize and ruminate and eventually just give up and make something to eat at home or put the purchase in question back on the shelf…

How To Stave Off The Hangrys In Los Angeles
Chances are that if you are a living, breathing human-being you’ve been a victim of the Hangrys. You know, that feeling when you’re so incredibly irritable that the sound of someone sneezing on the street sends shudders down your spine and you wonder how much attention they REALLY need. Or when you pick a fight with your significant other because you just don’t think you can go on in this relationship if they don’t start squeegeeing the shower doors like you asked. Or like, you’re in traffic on the freeway and the person in front of you isn’t racing like a bat out of hell to the car in front…

Hello Travel: The Santa Ynez Valley
Going to The Santa Ynez Valley is definitely my new favorite local trip. At only 105 miles from LA it takes around 2 1/2 hrs to get there and you automatically feel like you’re in a different state, maybe even different country. Since my first time going last June I have been back on 2 separate occasions and each time I had a better experience than the last. Solvang is a kitschy little Danish town in the Santa Ynez Valley. Driving in you feel like you entered a weird theme park. Its packed with tourists and year round Christmas shops but also with DANISH…Like the kind you eat. If you…

Oh Shit…I guess I’m a blogger now…
Well, here we are. In a place I never EVER thought I’d be…My own blog. To be honest, the word makes me shudder inside and I am grappling with a mix of shame, embarrassment and what the fuck ever-ness. I went to a psychic once, her name was Carris. Well, she wasn’t so much a psychic as she was someone who read astrological charts and did tarot (she loved Elvis and polar fleece but i digress). She told me I would have a blog, I literally laughed in her face. I can hear her right now, maybe its her psychic abilities astral projecting into my brain, but she is screaming…
