Hello Baby,  Uncategorized

my favorite/life-saving baby items (birth-4 months)

Wow, so it only took me 15 weeks to get around to compiling this list for you guys BUT I guess it’s better late than never! (At least thats what I’m telling myself)…

I think it is definitely worth noting that you’re going to get a million different recommendations from any parent you ask. That is because babies are PICKY. Like so so so picky it’s insane. From what paci they like, to which bottle works for them to what they let you lay them down in. With that said, these are what have worked best for us so far.

Avocado Mattress Organic Kids Mattress: Does your baby NEED an organic mattress? No. Is it a lot better for them to have one if you can swing it? Yes. Conventional mattresses are made with lots and lots of gnarly toxic chemicals that off put harmful VOC’s. I feel better knowing Wylder isn’t breathing anything harmful into his fresh baby lungs.

Rohm Travel Size Sound Machine: This little sound machine is worth its weight in gold. Add to that the fact that its portable and costs under $30 makes it a no brainer.

Halo Sleepsack Swaddle: Swaddles are one thing that can vary widely from baby to baby but this has been a constant for us since Wylder was born. The velcro also makes them dummy proof which is very important & useful especially when your baby is upset and you’re tired.

Owlet Smart Sock: This little “sock” is peace of mind. It syncs to an app on your phone and monitors heart rate and oxygen levels while your baby sleeps. God forbid something goes wrong or these levels enter a dangerous zone alarms will sound. This is the only thing that keeps me from checking if he is breathing all night long.

Baby Brezza Formula Pro: If you plan on formula feeding or just supplementing with formula this will be your BFF. Think of it as a nespresso for baby bottles. It does all the measuring, mixing and heating for you with the push of a button. Downside is that the funnel needs to be cleaned every 4 bottles so be sure to get an extra!

BabyBjorn Bouncer: I bought 3 different sitting apparatuses for him and he hated them all except this one, which is fine with me because it’s by far the smallest, least hideous and most practical.

Tiny Love Infant Activity Playmat: This is something I had absolutely no idea I would need but was fortunate enough to have a very smart mom friend give to us as a gift (hi, Christal). You have to start tummy time with babies almost immediately after they’re born (another thing I didn’t know) and this mat is specifically designed to aid with their development. It’s something we have used everyday, multiple times a day since he was born. It’s also very easy to disassemble and wash which is invaluable.

Nest Camera: There are a million billion different video baby monitors to chose from. We already have a Nest doorbell and thermostat so adding the camera just made the most sense since they all work through the same interface. It’s worked perfectly for us so far, especially when paired with the Owlet.

I could go on and on forever listing products so I have made an Amazon storefront that has everything I’ve mentioned, plus lots of other necessities, in one location. Everything on that list is something we own and use.

Hope this helps any soon to be or new parents! I know from first hand experience how overwhelming it can be!

XO, Hellowhitney.
